Lady Crusaders seeing success in volleyball, tennis, soccer


Three great teams pulled off three great wins this week! 

Varsity Volleyball is coming off a hard-fought win against Rootstown earlier this week, winning in a 5-set match. Leading stats consisted of aces: Sophia Keane & Sara Barnett, 14 kills: Avery McMahon, 35 assists: Mae Axline, digs: Molly Marceric & McMahon, blocks: Keane & Mari Nist. Player of the game: Grace Hickman. Great job, ladies! Freshmen, JV, and varsity volleyball travel together this weekend, as they head to Dalton this morning, Saturday, August 24.

Congrats to the Girls Soccer team for defeating Lake Center Christian 6-1. Sarah Belden and Ellie Buckler had 3 goals each, with outstanding defense by Anna Minarcheck, Emily Schmidt, Monse Sevilla, Sara Schmidt, and Emma Frech. Great job ladies! They take on United on Monday, August 26, at 6 pm, at United.
 
Crusader Girls Tennis pitched their second shutout in a row beating STVM 5-0 last week at home! Sophomore Isabel Lombardi, freshman Ava Kraft, and senior Katie Findley won their singles matches and are now a combined 12 - 3 on the season. Both doubles teams, Samantha Hoover & Marie Weller and Isabella D’Antonio & Jillyan Stevens, won their matches. Also winning for the Cru were juniors Anna Chamblee and Olivia Johnston and sophomore Madison Scott. The girls improved to 3-2 on the season and are home this coming week for matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.
