Speech & Debate off to an impressive start

The Crusader Speech & Debate Team has kicked off their competitive season and it’s been another incredible start, racking up more than 16 awards in just a few weeks.

They began at the GlenOak Novice Tournament. Rowyn Harris took second in Program Oral Interp. In Declamation, Demariana Love took 8th place, Anna Schervish took 5th, and Roman Schoolcraft took 1st. Grace Noyes took 4th place in US Extemp. 

The varsity season began at Hudson. Rowyn Harris took second in POI and earned a bid to the State Tournament. Roman Schoolcraft was the top novice in Declamation. 
They had another strong showing at the Perry tournament, where more than 850 students competed. Rowyn Harris placed 6th in POI and earned her second bid to the state tournament. Isabel Lombardi took 2nd in Drama, also earning a bid to the state tournament.

Last weekend, the team competed at Highland. In Declamation, Roman Schoolcraft placed 4th and Demariona Love placed 3rd. Isabel Lombardi was 5th in Dramatic Interp. Maria Weller was 2nd in Informative. Rowyn Harris was 4th in POI. Grace Noyes was the top novice in US Extemp. Overall, the team won 2nd place in team awards!
