Crusader Athletics still rolling

School might be winding down but Crusader Athletics is still going strong! Our spring teams have had impressive regular seasons, and each of them are in strong position for tournament play.


Softball
Softball keeps on rolling! The Lady Crusaders had a bye first round and won their 2nd and 3rd round games, earning a spot to the District Finals! According to the Tribune Chronicle “Central Catholic’s bats proved to be too much for Western Reserve on Monday, as the 13th-seeded Crusaders defeated the fifth-seeded Blue Devils 12-1 in the Division IV Badger district semifinal.” The ladies play in the District Championship today, May 15th, against North Jackson Milton at Joseph Badger High School. Let’s go, Cru!

Lacrosse
Lacrosse finished their regular season with a win on Senior Night over Benedictine 14-1. Max Held led the team with 4 goals, followed by Ricky Salvino with 3, Conner Thomas and John Shew with 2 each, and Bryce Stahlneker, Dominic Bogdan, Isaac Ray with one apiece. Ricky Salvino, Bryce Stahlneker, Conner Thomas. Preston Scott and Dominic Bogdan all had assists. Rounding out the offense for the night were Connor Wentzel, Grady Noggle, Jaiso Inestroza, Kate Taylor, Rowan Benjamin, Perry Randau, and Zeke Koontz. The tough defense was led by goalie Rocco Ross, and assisted by John Fabek, John White, Brock Abbott, Limyerre Goodgame, Kasey Davis, and Wes Zuchegno. The team starts tournament action today, with their round 1 game, at home against Benedictine. Good luck, Cru!


Baseball
Crusader Baseball is hitting their stride at the right time, recently winning EIGHT games in a row. They are currently seeded 8th, as they head into tournament play. They host the sectional final game, today, May 15th. Go, Cru!

Track & Field
On Saturday, Crusader Track & Field completed their regular season at the Jason Manse Crusader Relays. Placing 1st for the Crusaders were Aidan Nasvadi, Carlos Cantera-Quintero, Easton Miller, Grant Eberhardt, Tommy Grisez, Angelo Rossi, Caroline Crane, Talo Saipia, Jonathan Stangl, Matt Darrow, and Alanna Coy. Today, they travel to Norwayne High School for Districts. Good luck, Cru!
