Two Crusaders honored by Mount Union's Regula Center for Public Service & Civic Engagement






Congratulations to two special Crusaders, Joe French and Alan Harold. 

President Joe French is being honored with the Mary Regula Award for Community Service. Alan Harold, former board member and past board chair, as well as a parent to a Crusader grad, is also being recognized with the Ralph Regula Award for Public Service. Both have given back an immeasurable amount to our community and are great role models of lives built upon a foundation of faith, family, and service to others.

Mount Union to award Regula service awards

ALLIANCE – University of Mount Union’s Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement will honor Stark County officials Joe French and Alan Harold with its annual awards.

French, president of Stark County Catholic Schools, will receive the Mary Regula Award for Community Service, while Harold, a Stark County commissioner, will receive the Ralph Regula Award for Public Service.

The awards will be distributed at noon April 8 at the Regula Center Annual Meeting at Alliance Country Club.

French has a lengthy career of public service, devoted to helping children of Northeast Ohio. Prior to his current role, he was CEO of Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health and was inaugural executive director of the Early Childhood Education Alliance.

Harold was named a commissioner in November 2024 after serving as Stark County auditor for nearly 14 years. He previously served as president of the County Auditor’s Association and received the Richard J. Makowski Award for Outstanding County Auditor in 2022.  

Tickets for the luncheon are $30, with meal included. Space is limited and RSVPs can be made at mountunion.edu/regula-center.
