Aquinas’ Heidi Kaczynski Named Walsh University Founders’ Scholarship Recipient


St. Thomas Aquinas High School is proud to announce that Heidi Kaczynski, Class of 2022 was the recipient of the prestigious Walsh University Founders’ Scholarship. This scholarship is a competitive, full-tuition scholarship, awarded to a top scholar at each of the six Youngstown Diocesan high schools each year.

Kaczynski has earned many academic honors and awards including being the National Honor Society co-president. She earned St. Thomas Aquinas’ General Excellence Awards during her freshman and junior years and earned the school’s subject awards, in every subject, throughout her high school career. At Aquinas, she participates in many extracurricular activities including Culture Club, Key Club, and Academic Challenge.
 
She is a student-athlete, she participates in golf, cheer, and track. She is a four-year varsity letterman for cheer, three-year varsity letterman for golf, three-year letterman for track, and one-year letterman for tennis. She earned Most Improved Player for golf as a sophomore and earned the Scholar-Athlete Award for track, golf, and cheer.
 
Kaczynski says that she is interested in attending Walsh because, of “its proximity to her friends and family, and it offers the best opportunities for her field of interest.” In addition, she enjoys the small school community she has at Aquinas and “believes Walsh has a similar small, community feel.” Kaczynski plans to major in chemical engineering in college. 

She is the daughter of Amy and Frank Kaczynski.
