Our English department offers a Holocaust Literature course each year which opens the opportunity for students to take a trip to learn more about the Holocaust, Jewish beliefs, and Jewish traditions. Mr. Binstock shared his mother's story of surviving Auschwitz and his father's survival by hiding in order to avoid being sent to the camps. Students also heard stories in small groups from 8 different survivors or their family members. Plus, a rabbi spoke to them about the Synagogue. It is always a powerful experience, one of education and understanding.
