Holocaust Literature Class participates in Holocaust Education Program

Central Catholic is very proud to offer a Holocaust Literature course. As part of that course, students have the opportunity to travel to the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage to participate in the Holocaust Education Program.

Students met with Rabbi Shoshana, the education director of Suburban Temple, who shared with them information about the faith traditions of Judaism and the connections felt by Jews around the world. They were given an in-depth examination of the historical events, laws and decrees that allowed the Holocaust. Students had face-to-face interactions and small group discussions with survivors or children of survivors who shared their stories. Finally, the group heard from Holocaust survivor George Kronenberg. It was a very powerful day for our students.

Of special note, we were thrilled when the moderators of the event shared that our Crusaders were one of the most respectful and engaged audiences, they’ve had visit them. It has become a very meaningful trip for our upperclassmen and one of our student’s favorite classes.
