Crusaders donate over 6000 items to local food banks

Our students and staff have completed our traditional holiday season, Thanksgiving Food Drive and Adopt-A-Family project! Again, this year we are AMAZED at the concern our students show for those who need a caring hand.

Deacon Randy Smith, Crusader campus minister, sent this message to our student body to be read during our annual end-of-school day Thanksgiving prayer service (he was unable to attend due to a funeral).

“To the students & staff of my Central family,

Your generosity and willingness to sacrifice for others so they can have a meal for Thanksgiving, as well as food for every day, and gifts and food for Christmas has amazed and humbled me. I am in awe of what can happen when the Central community comes together as Christ has asked us to be. So many things have happened this year, but this student body and staff always unites as one and supports everyone who needs it. I wish was there to give you my personal blessings today for a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families. I will have all of you in my personal prayers as my parish celebrates our Thanksgiving Mass on Wednesday evening at the vigil. Please take a moment this weekend to thank someone who has done something special for you.

My God’s continued blessings pour upon you in the days ahead. See you all when we return from break.

Deacon Randy”

We are proud to announce that this year our students have donated 6,096 items to be used in local food banks!

Rose and Bryant Bartolone ‘85, volunteers for Catholic Charities, came to school on Monday, November 21st to help students load all of the items donated for our annual food drive. What a wonderful example of Crusaders putting their faith into action, across generations. As we mark Thanksgiving, we are forever grateful for our Crusader family!
