Stark County Catholic Schools is expanding our band program, we're hiring an additional Band Director! The SCCS Elementary Band Director will coordinate small group band lessons, practices, and performances in selected elementary schools located across Stark County.
The position will include such duties as conducting parent/student interest and information nights at the beginning of the school year, sharing information about band instrument rentals and music books, developing a schedule with individual principals, sharing the schedule regularly with teachers for efficiency, conducting small group lessons with students in grades 4 – 8, holding weekly practice sessions, and conducting one-two joint performances: Fall or early Winter, and Spring. The performance venue will be coordinated between band directors.
The Band Director is responsible for generating interest in the program and increasing the number of band participants from year to year, building positive rapport with band students, maintaining discipline, following up on any parent, teacher or principal concerns, and fostering pride in performance and building overall program excellence. The band director may work with STA and CCHS in order to build the programs at each of the schools (having top performers join high school students for performances).
