Blessing of the Throats

Blessing of the Throats

Friday, February 3 was the Feast Day of St. Blaise.

Blaise refused to renounce his faith and was imprisoned. A boy was brought to him who was choking on a bone while he was in prison. Blaise blessed the boy and the fishbone dislodged. That act of faith earned him the title of the patron saint of ailments of the throat.

Students & staff had the opportunity to have a blessing of their throats from Campus Minister, Deacon Randy throughout the day on Friday. We were thrilled to see so many students take the opportunity to receive a blessing.
