From the President: A 'Thank You' to SCCS staff

From the President: A 'Thank You' to SCCS staff

In a sea of uncertainty, there is one thing that has remained constant, the dedication of our teachers and school administrators to our students. Understandably, information surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and our state's response to the pandemic has changed daily. While there are still questions left to answer and processes to iron out, I want to thank the teachers, administrators, and staff in our Stark County Catholic Schools who have gone above and beyond. They have done a fantastic job! Our principals, assistant principals, teachers, and staff met and came up with plans for empowering our students to learn at home well BEFORE our schools were officially closed. Thanks to their dedication, our students have not missed days of educational instruction and they have been able to learn from home, armed with the resources provided by our teachers. I've been amazed by the resourcefulness of our staff. They are using a variety of teaching methods: Google Classroom, apps like Remind and Class Dojo, group chats, making personal phone calls, sending emails to students and families nearly every day, creating video, and generating paper packets covering days and days of material. Teachers and principals are gathering support materials and extra resources to support our families and to keep students active and engaged. Staff members are finding different ways to be sure every family gets the information and assistance they need during these challenging times. Our schools are sharing prayers, videos, and links for online worship services because faith is at the heart of all we do. Staff in our schools have done so much, with little notice, and their quick response is helping us maintain the academic excellence for which Catholic schools are known for, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, they are showing the love and care for our students that make our schools a family. Please join me in thanking our teachers, staff, and faculty in our Stark County Catholic Schools.
