St. Mary's Reset and Restart Plan

St. Mary's Reset and Restart Plan

Dear Families,

I hope all of you are enjoying a restful summer. I know the start of the school year is weighing heavily on everyone's mind. Hopefully, the attached Reset and Restart Plan will ease some of that worry.

As always, our goal is for the concern and safety of God's most precious gifts: our children. After working with the Office of Catholic Schools, staff, and the health departments as well as following the guidelines set forth by the State of Ohio, we have come up with a plan to get our students back in the building and reunited with the faculty and staff who genuinely miss them. In addition to caring for our children, we care about the safety and health of our staff. To that end, we have increased our daily cleaning routine, increased our school nurse's hours, and made various accommodations throughout the building.

The start of school will look a little different this year. We will guide our students through some of the changes in the building and what to expect this fall. To achieve that goal, children with last names starting with A-L will begin on August 18 and stay home the next day (August 19), and children with last names M-Z will stay home on August 18 and start on August 19. Everyone will be back in the building on August 20.

Although I do not know what the 2020-2021 school year will hold for us, I do know that St. Mary's will continue to adapt, be flexible, and support anything thrown our way to ensure the success of all of our children. We trust in God when Moses said in Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and steadfast; have no fear or dread of them, for it is the LORD, your God, who marches with you; he will never fail you or forsake you."

In Christ,

Jennifer Fischer
