Stark County Catholic Schools’ Teachers of the Year
Recently, several Stark County Catholic Schools teachers were awarded All-County teaching honors. Awards for All-County Teacher(s) of the Year and Rookie(s) of the Year were presented at the annual Stark Educational Service Center’s awards dinner at R.G. Drage Career Technical Center on April 29. All nominations were selected by a panel of judges that included representatives from The Canton Repository, AultCare and Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Teachers of the Year were selected because of their dedication to educating and inspiring their students in unique and innovative ways.
Three teachers from Stark County Catholic Schools were honored at the ceremony. Linda Miller, second-grade teacher at St. Mary Catholic School in Massillon, was named an All-County Teacher of the Year along with Gerald Hudnall, English teacher at Central Catholic High School in Canton. Miller is a graduate of both St. Mary School and Central Catholic (Class of ’77). Central Catholic’s Lauren Sharnsky, social studies teacher, was named an All-County Rookie of the Year.
