Extracurricular Activities

Soccer K-5

Students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade learn the fundamentals of soccer in our fall and spring soccer program in partnership with the Minerva YMCA. The primary team is composed of children in grades K – 3. The intermediate team is composed of children in grades 4 – 5. Both teams practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at St. James School. The teams compete with YMCA teams in Minerva.

Yearbook Committee

Fifth graders learn to create a school yearbook electronically using pictures and text.

Student Council

student council Students learn about the voting process by electing a representative from each grade level to serve on Student Council. The representatives meet with the principal during lunch once a month to plan and lead community service projects and family activities. The students organize school spirit campaigns and academic enrichment opportunities.

Art Club

The St. James Art Club allows students to expand their creativity, imagination and self expression.

Cooking Club

Offered in 4 week sessions. The Cooking Club teaches participants how to read and follow recipes, use measuring cups and spoons, prepare and taste simple foods, get comfortable in the kitchen, and discover the joy of cooking. 

LEGO Club

Children work in teams to build LEGO creations based on weekly challenges. 

Girl Scouts

St. James students have the opportunity to particpate in Girl Scouts, a leadership development program.

Service Club

St. James' Service Club is dedicated to helping those in need and work on several service projects throughout the year.
