Mrs. Burke Wins Golden Apple Award

 
Ss. Philip and James School is celebrating one of its own, Ms. Jennifer Burke, after she was named a recipient of the prestigious Golden Apple Award by the Diocese of Youngstown. The annual award, generously funded by the Donahue Family Foundation of Pittsburgh, honors six outstanding teachers and one principal across the diocese's Catholic schools. She was honored alongside other awardees at a special dinner ceremony on May 1 at the Youngstown Country Club.
 
Mrs. Burke was selected from an impressive group of candidates for her professional expertise, deep commitment to her students and school, leadership abilities, service to church and community, and embodiment of Catholic values in the classroom. The Golden Apple Award recognizes the vital role Catholic educators play in shaping the development of students.
