Dylan M. and Jesse E. place at LifeWorks Ohio “Respect Life” Contest

Each year, Mrs. Mackey's Language Arts class participates in the LifeWorks Ohio “Respect Life” Art, Essay and Poetry Contest. This year's Bible verse to guide their writing was “ . . . be of one mind, sympathetic, loving toward one another, compassionate,” (1 Peter 3:8).

To enter the contest, students must write about one or more of these topics, and how to assist them both spiritually and physically: an expectant mother and preborn child, a terminally ill person, and/or a physically or mentally challenged person.  Students must also include this point, when writing: The value of these people and why their right to life must be defended.

Out of 2,000 entries, we are proud to announce that Dylan McManus, 4th grade, won third place with his essay, and Jesse Everhart, 5th grade, won second place with his poem. Congratulations!
