Under the order of Governor DeWine, the Ohio Department of Health, and the Diocese of Youngstown, SS. Philip and James closed on March 13 and began remote learning, which we continued through the end of the school year, on Monday, March 16. The safety and health of our students was our top priority throughout the school year. Our last day of school was May 29 and our students are now on summer break. We hope the steps we took this school year helped to keep our community safe and that our community will remain safe in the weeks ahead! We will keep all of our families in our prayers. It is our hope that we are all together in person on our first day of classes for all students on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.
The School Office is open Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in June. Outside of those hours, parents can call the school and leave a message or email the school at any time.

At-Home Learning during the Coronavirus
Beginning Monday, March 16, we began remote learning which continued through our last day of school for the 2019-2020 school year. We are proud that our staff was prepared for a quick transition and our students were able to learn from home right from the start of our closure. Our teachers used a variety of methods to continue to connect with our students and to offer them a personalized learning environment including regularly scheduled Zoom class meetings, Google Classroom, YouTube, the Remind App, Google Meets, as well as phone calls and supply and packet deliveries to individual student homes as needed. Thanks to our staff, our students, and our families our school community had another successful year!

Please join us in prayer for all those affected by the Coronavirus. Each day, while school is in session, our school family prayers together. While we were learning from home, our community continued to come together in prayer on social media. We regularly post prayers on our Facebook page, @spjschool.

Many companies and organizations offered free subscriptions and resources to students during this school closure. These resources enhance at-home learning, and can be used to help educate students on a variety of subjects while they are completing their remote learning.
