Central Catholic works to keep tuition as low as possible, through grant and scholarship programs, while still providing students access to outstanding academic, athletic, spiritual, and extra-curricular programs. Central Catholic’s tuition price is one of the lowest in the state of Ohio.

Actual cost to educate a student per year: $14,313

2023-2024 tuition cost for non-Catholic parishioners: $11,100
2023-2024 tuition cost for Catholic parishioners: $10,100

Average price of tuition paid by our families after tuition assistance: $6,489

Central Catholic families receive $2.2 million in tuition assistance each year.

Tuition Assistance

Central Catholic offers several programs to help make tuition affordable for all families. Cost should never prevent a student from obtaining a high-quality, Catholic education.
 
School-Funded Tuition Assistance, Grants & Scholarships
$1 Million in school-funded tuition assistance & scholarships is awarded to our families each year!
Families may apply for one or more of the following annually. All applications are confidential. Financial need programs are determined once information is submitted to FACTS (the link is located on the right side of this page).  

  • Scholarships & Grants: These awards can be given upon merit, need, or a combination of both.
    • Parish Tuition Scholarship
      For families who are active members of a Stark County Catholic parish.
    • Memorial & Honorary Grants
      Over seventy-five Memorial & Honorary Grants are provided each year based on: financial need, academic progress, Christian example, service to others, and involvement in the community.
    • Youngstown Diocesan Grant (In memory of Mary Ellen Cushwa Wolsonovich)
      This grant is provided by the Diocese based on financial need determined by FACTS. Families must complete the digital FACTS application, located to the right. 
    • CCHS Band Scholarships 
      Band Scholarships worth up to $500 per year can be given for participation in band. 
    • Teachers’ Confederation Scholarship 
      The Youngstown Diocesan Confederation of Teachers offers a $100 renewable scholarship for selected freshmen attending CCHS and other diocese schools. Freshmen must have a 3.0 or higher GPA and show leadership and responsibility. 
    • Academic ScholarshipsCCHS Education Foundation Scholarships 
      Academic scholarships are awarded through Guidance Department. Applications are available to incoming freshmen students. Nearly two dozen scholarships, from $250-500, are awarded each year.

  • Tuition Discounts: Families that meet certain criteria can have their tuition reduced.
    • Legacy Alumni Scholarship 
      Families can receive this discount if the applying student has parents who attended a Stark County Catholic High School. Alumni scholarships are provided each year upon application.
    • Stark County Catholic Elementary School Scholarship
      Families may apply for this scholarship if the student will also have a younger sibling attending a Stark County Catholic Elementary School. This scholarship is offered each year upon application.

  • Volunteer Parent Scholarship Agreement (Work-Study)
    Parents may volunteer to earn tuition credit toward their child's tuition. Volunteer hours can be accumulated in the school cafeteria or other maintenance areas. Maintenance hours are scheduled after-school and in the evening, cafeteria and kitchen house are available during the day. See the application to the right.

Outside Funding Tuition Assistance, Grants & Scholarships

  • Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) Scholarships.
    Central Catholic has partnered with two SGO's, The Good Samaritian Scholarship Fund spearheaded by the Diocese of Youngstown, and the Every Child Every Family Scholarship Fund led by School Choice Ohio. SGO's provide scholarships for families at or below 300% of the federal poverty guidelines. Families apply through FACTS.
  • EdChoice & EdChoice Expansion Scholarship 
    Central Catholic is a provider of the State of Ohio Scholarship Program. Families eligible for these state-funded scholarships must meet state-designated financial need levels or have students assigned to a state-designated list of public schools.   • RJS Foundation Scholarship
    The RJS Foundation awards scholarships based on need, desire to continue Catholic education, and future goals. RJS awards scholarships from $1,000-$5,000. To apply, visit http://www.rjscanhelp.com/.  Applications must be completed in full to be eligible for consideration. A representative from RJS Foundation will contact Central Catholic to let the school know if a family qualifies.

  1. Pay in full by August 1
  2. Pay in two payments – August 1 & January 1
  3. Loan through DOY Credit Union or Friends & Family Credit Union
  4. Monthly payments through FACTS

July 1: Tuition Plan on File with the Central Business Office
August 1: Pay in Full Payment Option or Half-Pay for Two Payment Option
January 1: Second Payment for Two Payment Option
