Service Opportunities

Students are asked to participate in service each year
Students are encouraged to give back as often as they can, however, each grade level is expected to complete a minimum number of service hours.
Freshmen - 10 hours
Sophomores - 10 hours
Juniors - 15 hours
Seniors - 20 hours

Students can find their own forms of service or we continually offer service opportunities, both on campus and off, that span a wide range of interests, time commitments, and availability.

Upcoming Service Opportunities
*Please check back frequently, for additional opportunities.

On-Campus Opportunities
Varsity Home Athletic Events - help is needed to run our digital scoreboards for varsity volleyball, jv football, boys and girls soccer, girls and boys varsity basketball home games. Students would work in the press box in the stadium or the perch in the gym, running interactive pre-made graphics and videos at designated times during events. Training is provided. Students are able to select the sport they want to cover and set a schedule. To sign up or get more information, please visit Mrs. Cramer, our marketing director, in her office across from the Teachers Lounge in the Guidance Hallway or email her at [email protected].

CAST - Join CAST, our student organization. They provide many opportunities for students to offer community service before/after school and right on campus. PleaseMr. Vincente if you’re interested in caring and serving together in our community.

Crusaders Boys Soccer - The boys soccer team is looking for 4-6 helpers at home games to be on the sidelines to be ball people. If you are interested, please see one of the soccer players or show up to the game around 6:45 and report to Coach Downing. Community service hours can be earned for your help.

Off-Campus Opportunities
SJA Food Cupboard (ongoing) - every Monday we have the opportunity to help at SJA's food cupboard from 3:30-6:00 in the SJA social hall. A nice thing about this opportunity is that you can go over to help right after school and then stay as long as you are able to!

SJA Bingo Clean-up (ongoing) - SJA is looking for helpers to do a quick clean-up after their Bingo on Tuesdays - from 9-9:30 pm in the SJA Social Hall. You could be a regular and go each week OR sign up for a specific evening to show up and help tear down after bingo is over.

Stark County Humane Society (ongoing) - Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St NE, Louisville, OH 44641 needs volunteers! Volunteers are needed to walk dogs and play with cats. Note this!! If you have never volunteered there yet and you are under 18, a parent needs to sign permission before you volunteer there. Once that is done, they keep those on file and you don’t have to do it again. If you are under 16, you cannot volunteer there without a parent being with you.

House of Loreto Retirement Home (ongoing) - This is an ongoing service opportunity meaning you can visit any day, any time. They do especially need help in the after-school hours serving dinner, 4:30-6:30.

Flower Gardening Help Needed - Help needed for an elderly woman in the neighborhood near Central. If anyone is looking for an opportunity to do some service work this might be a good opportunity for you because you can set up the day and time that is convenient for you. She would like someone to come this weekend on either Friday 9/28, or Saturday, 9/29 to do some of the work and then, hopefully,
come back the 2nd week of October, Friday, 10/13, or Saturday, 10/14 to finish the job. You can go by yourself or plan to go with another person or 2 if that works for you.

More info on service opportunities and sign-ups is on Google Classroom.
