Service Opportunities

Students are asked to participate in service each year
Students are encouraged to give back as often as they can, however, each grade level is expected to complete a minimum number of service hours.
Freshmen - 10 hours
Sophomores - 10 hours
Juniors - 15 hours
Seniors - 20 hours

Students can find their own forms of service or we continually offer service opportunities, both on campus and off, that span a wide range of interests, time commitments, and availability.

SJA Food Cupboard put out a special request that you will keep helping with food cupboard throughout the summer for any amount of time from 3-5 on Mondays in the social hall. They feed many and if you've been there before you know that the food cupboard is mostly staffed by elderly persons who cannot manage without your help!

If you have never volunteered there yet and you are under 18, a parent needs to sign permission before you volunteer there. Once that is done, they keep those on file and you don’t have to do it again. If you are under 16, you cannot volunteer there without a parent being with you.

These nights are very rare opportunities for their parents to have a night off. The families always look forward to these monthly events!! Volunteers arrive by 5:30, You will be fed and you will babysit either a child with disabilities or their sibling for a few hours. If you attend, you need to be able to stay the duration of the event, until 9:00, Because you will likely be assigned a specific buddy, leaving
