There are many student organizations and clubs that students can get involved with, in addition to athletics. In fact, 99% of our student body is involved in at least one student organization!
Digital News Team:
Anyone interested in graphic design or video production is encouraged to check out our digital news team. Students have the opportunity to come up with graphics and video for our digital scoreboards and social media accounts, run live video feeds during games, and run our digital scoreboard. Training is provided. Please see Mrs. Cramer, our marketing director, in the Alumni & Development Office, across from the teacher's lounge in the guidance hallway, or email Mrs. Cramer at
[email protected].
Drama Club/Fall Play:
The Drama club is preparing for their Fall Play, "Sherlock Holmes" in Theater 303, please see Mr. Scholl if interested.
Esports Ohio:
Welcome to Esports Ohio. This year we will be playing FORTNITE on Tuesday's after school. The competition will be with other Northeastern Ohio schools. Our first meeting is on Tuesday, September 3rd. You will need to bring your signed permission slips, which you can find in the main office, to room 405 after school. Our first goal on September 3 will be to create logins for the Ohio Sports League. If you have questions, contact Mr. Powell at
[email protected]. Our season will begin on September 6 and continue to early November.
Language Clubs:
We have a Spanish Club and a French Club, both organizations are very popular with our student body. The clubs have regular breakfast gatherings, visit restaurants, host parties, have craft nights, and did we mention eat lots of food! For information on the clubs please see Madame Russell for French and Sra Carlson for Spanish.
Spanish Club Breakfast: The Spanish Club will hold a breakfast meeting on September 5 at 7:20 am in the cafeteria. Please see Sra Carlson in room 302 with any questions and/or to sign up for Spanish Club.
Liturgical Ministries:
We have a team of students who help with our worship services, and each of them is personally involved with our faith experiences. Students can sign up to be servers, readers, singers, instrumentalists, and communion distributors. Please see Mrs Dick or Deacon Randy for more information.
Liturgical Music Group:
Central Catholic offers something a little different, faith is at the heart of all we do, and music is no exception. Students interested in sharing their musical talents, whether with voice or instrument, are encouraged to join. The choir, or "Liturgical Music Group," performs the music at our worship services and Masses. For more information, please see Mrs. Dick, in room 305.
Profit Ninjas:
Central's entrepreneurship club gets together year-round! Students interested in business will experience the real-life practice of creating something of their own and bringing it to the community, making decisions, influencing a brand, and partnering with local businesses for growth. Anyone interested should see Mr. Knore as club activities are underway.
Speech & Debate:
What do Oprah Winfrey, Adam Sandler, Brad Pitt, Bobby Kennedy, and Stephen Colbert all have in common? They all competed in Speech and debate in high school. If you like to argue, write, act, discuss politics, and want to participate in an activity that will make you a leader and set you up for a successful future, please see Mrs. Harris in room 208. Returning members are already practicing for the season and new members are encouraged to speak with Mrs. Harris to get started.
Show Choir:
Any student interested in joining our brand-new Show Choir with Mrs. Dowd, please sign up in the main office. Show Choir will take place Tues, Wed, and Thurs. before school from 7:10 am - 7:50 am.
Yearbook Committee:
If you're interested in joining the Yearbook Committee, come see Sra. Jeffries in room 206 before next Friday 8/30! This is a great chance to get creative, work with a team, and help capture the memories of our school year. Don't miss out—let's make this year's yearbook unforgettable!
