Tomorrow will be a Spirit Day!
Attention Freshmen, Sophomore, and Juniors - this is a reminder to anyone who has not yet signed up for their location for community outreach day, please do so by tomorrow.
Guidance: A representative from Seton Hall will be here tomorrow at 8:15 to speak with interested students. You MUST have a permission slip signed by your 1st-period teacher in order to attend. These slips are available in the Guidance Hallway. The meetings will be held in the Chapel.
Student Council: Attention Seniors on the Homecoming court - please see Mrs. Harris ASAP for Homecoming information. There is a form she needs you to complete today.
Campus Ministry: Youth worship night is this Sunday, October 1st from 5-8 pm. It will begin at SJA Church for 5:30 Mass, followed by a procession to the Grotto for Adoration, then pizza and games in the community room. Students should wear their school uniforms and sign up on Google Classroom. We need 3-4 students from each grade.

The boys soccer team is looking for 4-6 helpers at home games to be on the sidelines to be ball people. If you are interested, please see one of the soccer players or show up to the game around 6:45 and report to Coach Downing. Community service hours can be earned for your help.

The girls tennis team won their 10th straight match Tuesday afternoon in Warren beating JFK High School 3-2. Led by freshman Grace Finefrock who won her 14th match of the year, freshman Isabel Lombardi with her 11 win of the season, and senior captain Lily Heck who notched her 16th match win. The girls team improved to 13 and 5 and travel this afternoon to Dover for a tough match with the Tornadoes.
CCVB had a big dub last night against Green. Leading stats: aces: Lauren Neisel 3 and Sydney Turner 3, kills: Maddie Heiser 20 and Lauren Neisel 12, assists: Sydney Turner 44, blocks: Maddie Heiser 5, digs: Josey Stevens 38 and Molly Marceric 20. Great job ladies!
The softball team will be playing in a winter league at the Hall of Fame Fitness Center starting in November. Any girls interested in playing, there is a sign-up sheet in the office. There will be a meeting on Friday, September 29th at 7:45, in the balcony.

Community Outreach Day: After announcements, all freshmen should report to the balcony for a brief meeting regarding the Community Outreach Day. At 8:45 sophomores should report to the balcony and at 9:00, the beginning of 2nd period, juniors should report to the balcony.

The girls tennis team traveled to Manchester Tuesday and emerged victorious by the score of 3-2. Freshman Grace Finefrock won easily at first singles, freshman Isabell Lombardi played her opponent even thru the first two sets then pulled away in the third for a win at second singles, and senior team captain Lily Heck won the deciding match at third singles in straight sets and improved her match record to 13 and 2. For the year the girls won their 9th straight match and are now 12 and 5 on the season with three matches remaining and travel to Warren JFK this afternoon.

Drama Club: Attention cast and crew members of CLUE! If you haven't already done so, please make sure you turn in your t-shirt order form and money by Wednesday. You can turn them in at rehearsal or to Dr. Ostertag's office in the guidance hallway. Crew members, if you haven't been to a practice yet, please plan to attend either Wednesday or Thursday at 3pm to see Mr. Scholl and to get your bio and ad forms.

In what may have been their biggest win of the year an undermanned girls tennis team defeated Cardinal Mooney by the score of 4-1. In what may have been the biggest match of the year, senior captain Lily Heck stepped into the number one spot in the lineup and won convincingly 6-3, 6-0. Also winning for the Cru were Jillyan Stevens at 3rd singles and Samantha Hoover and Marie Weller at first doubles and making their varsity debut this season Addie Burgess and Alexa Huffman at second doubles. The team has now won 8 matches in a row and improved to 11 and 5 on the year.
On Saturday, the boys soccer team defeated Chippewa 3-0 to earn their 3rd win in a row. Vince Pena scored 2 goals and Alex Winkhart scored a goal and recorded 2 assists. Emerson Schwiger made 4 saves in goal as he and the whole defense secured the team's second shutout in 3 games. Their next game is home Thursday at 5PM when they host Manchester.
CCVB swept TCC last night in 3 sets. Leading stats: Aces: Sophia Keane 6, kills: Maddie Heiser 13, Lauren Neisel 9, Emma Bourquin 5, blocks: Maddie Heiser 5, assists: Sydney Turner 27, digs: Lauren Neisel 14 and Josey Stevens 11. Great job ladies!

Senior Retreat: Senior Retreat is fast approaching! We need permission slips/medical forms turned in by today from all seniors who are going on Retreat. Don’t forget the food cupboard today at SJA after school. They are really struggling with no help on Mondays. Please consider going over after school, even if it is for a short time. Bingo cleanup on Tuesday at SJA at 9:00 pm.

Athletics:
On Saturday at the Midwest Catholic meet, the boys cross country team placed 9th overall, 3rd in the Small school division. Leading the Crusaders and placing in the top 20, medaling, were Grant Eberhardt, Carlos Cantera-Quintero, Ben Reese, Easton Miller, and Nick Hallaman. Also contributing were Juan Cantera-Quintero and John Shew. The Girls were led by Allison Ries, who medaled, Celeste Levengood, Taylor Magee, Khloe Volpe, and Katherine Hernandez. Good Luck this Saturday at the Stark County Meet at GlenOak!
