Central Catholic Cheerleaders Score 2nd Place at Ashland University Cheer Competition

Congratulations to the Central Catholic Crusaders Competitive Cheer Squad! , They kicked off their competition season this past weekend when they traveled to Ashland University. The Crusaders finished 2nd in the Game Day Division!

They competed against 43 other squad routines before winning 2nd place. According to Coach Karen Marinos, “This was Central Catholic’s first competition in over 20 years and I couldn’t be prouder of the girls.”  The Central Catholic Cheerleaders, under the guidance of Coach Marinos, have been growing and working hard over the course of the last several years to work their way back onto the competitive cheer scene.

Crusader Cheerleaders have been going away to cheer camps over the summer, participating in workshops, learning stunting techniques, and committing to a full practice and game schedule. The lady Crusaders have also volunteered their time, hosting a cheer clinic for younger cheerleaders from Stark County Catholic Elementary Schools, during the fall and winter season, regularly hosting a Father-Daughter Dance for elementary students, and organizing an annual alumni cheer night.

Coach Marinos shared, “we set goals for ourselves, worked hard and it paid off.”
