Morning Announcements

Friday, December 6, 2019 
- Blood Drive:
The annual Red Cross Blood Drive will be held in the Community Room next Friday, Dec 13th. Sign-ups will be held during lunch periods. Students may also sign up to donate cookies for the day of the drive. Please consider this lifesaving gift for the holidays!
 
- Year Books:
Yearbooks will be distributed today during lunch periods. If you are the sibling of a graduate, you may pick up their yearbook in the main office.
 
- CAST:
Central Catholic and CAST are collecting new pairs of men’s socks for the Refuge of Hope Men’s Shelter. With the cold weather upon us, please show your generosity by donating new socks to help those who are less fortunate. Donations can be turned in to room 301.
 
- Crusaders for the Community:
Check Google Classrooms for info about St. Michael's Giving Tree project and new info about the recess program helping children at First Christian Church, upcoming C.A.S.T. projects at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store Saturday, Dec. 7th and helping serve lunch at Refuge of Hope Homeless Shelter on Saturday, Dec. 14th, and a project wrapping gifts here at CCHS on Thursday, Dec 12th immediately after school. Service hours available for all these.
 
If you signed up to help with the Frosty Frolic 5k tomorrow, make sure you check the sign-up sheet on Google Classrooms for additional directions about where to go, where to park, and what to do once you arrive at the event. See Mrs. Dick if you have any questions.
 
Anyone who baked cookies for the Frosty Frolic 5k needs to bring them to the main office or to Room 305.

Your cookies need to be in containers that do not need returned. If anyone would like to take some containers home to pack your cookies in, see Mrs. Dick in Room 305. One service hour is available for baking any amount of cookies.
 
- Athletics:
The swim team was defeated by Western Reserve yesterday, first place winners were; Maddie Grillo, Morgan Phillips, Jack Belden, Kristen Belden, Sophia Dimos, Jaden Minarcheck, Barrett Scheatzle, Ethan Moorhead and Andy Kurtz.
 
The bowling teams had away matches against Louisville last evening. The Girls’ Varsity team lost to Louisville 2,300 to 1,875. High score for the girls’ team was bowled by Alina Stebbins with a two game series of 374. The girls rolled a season high team game of 744. The Boys’ Varsity team lost to Louisville 2,610 to 2,540. High score for the boy’s team was bowled by Bryce Schilling with an impressive two game series of 533 including games of 254 and 279. The boys team bowled a season high team game of 972 and season high match total pin fall of 2,540. The Boys’ JV team defeated Louisville 1,682 to 1,555. High score for the JV boys team was bowled by Mike LaLonde with a two game series of 332. The JV Boys bowled a season high match total pin fall of 1,682.

High score for the JV boys team was bowled by Mike LaLonde with a two game series of 299. The bowling teams have away matches against Louisville

The cast list for "Mary Poppins" will be posted to the school website and app by Sunday, December 1st.
 
- Graduation Information and Class Ring Orders:
All seniors received information on Tuesday, November 19th regarding cap and gown orders. Sophomores received information packets regarding class ring orders. A representative from Jostens will be here on Wednesday, December 4th, during lunch periods in the lower lobby to take your orders. Information packets are also available in the Main Office for any student who might be interested in purchasing a ring.

Don't forget to check Google Classroom for lots of service project opportunities coming up in the next few weeks. We need people for St. Paul's Childcare during the 9 a.m. Mass on Sunday. Other ongoing service opportunities, such as helping with meals at the House of Loreto any day between 4:30-6:30 and helping at the St. Joan of Arc Food Cupboard on Mondays anytime between 3:15 and 6:30 are there.

The bowling teams traveled to Claymont for a match last evening. The Girls’ Varsity team lost to Claymont 2,285 to 1,594. High score for the girls’ team was bowled by Alina Stebbins with a two game series of 345. The Boys’ Varsity team lost to Claymont 2,321 to 2,145. High score for the boys’ team was bowled by Bryce Schilling with a two game series of 354. The Boys’ JV team defeated Claymont 1,397 to 1,266. High score for the JV boys team was bowled by James Brown with a two game series of 276 and Dillon Glover was a close second with a two game series of 265. The bowling teams have away matches against Massillon tonight.

All food donations must be turned in this morning. Thank you to everyone for your donations. We will announce totals at the prayer service tomorrow.
