Congratulations to Erin Krupar, Class of 2018. It was announced this fall that she was selected as the 2021-2022 Student-Athlete of the Year at Ashland University!
Student-Athlete of the Year at Ashland is selected by the Athletic Committee, which is comprised of AU faculty members and staff members from outside the athletic department. These awards recognize outstanding athletic achievement, athletic prowess, and community/campus service.
According to AU Krupar had a breakout senior season in the fall of 2021. She was named an NCAA Division II All-American by both the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA, first team) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA, third team), and also was honored as the Midwest Region Player of the Year by the D2CCA, D2CCA all-region first team, Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year and first-team all-Great Midwest.
Playing in all 31 matches and all 110 sets in 2021, Krupar's total of 504 kills were No. 2 in NCAA Division II, her 5.09 points per set were tied for No. 3 in D-II, and her 4.58 kills per set were No. 5 in the nation. She also recorded a .240 hitting percentage, 24 service aces, 302 digs and 56 total blocks during the 2021 season. Krupar was a four-time Great Midwest South Division Offensive Player of the Week last fall.
