Student Organizations & Activities

Central Catholic is proud to offer students more than 50 different student organizations!
Given our smaller community, we pride ourselves on our ability to offer Crusaders a variety of activities and tailor our programs to student interests. That's why 99% of our student body participates in at least one extracurricular organization!

In addition to athletics, we have many active student organizations. Here are updates from a handful of our clubs:

CAST (Service Organization)
CAST - Crusader Service Organization has regular meetings and service opportunities for more information please see Mr. Vincente.

Chess Club
Due to student interest, we are kicking off Chess Club! The first meeting will be next week on Thursday, February 2nd, and will be continued every other Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. All skill levels are welcome! The meetings will be held in room 16, Doc’s room. Stop by if you are interested!

Drama Club
Members of our Central Drama Club are in the planning stages of our spring play. This year, our show will be student-directed one-acts. For more information, please see Mr. Scholl. This year's Spring Play will be The Complete Works of William Shakespeare abridged. Anyone interested in auditioning for a role or being on stage crew is welcome to come to auditions. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, March 1st, and Thursday, March 2nd. For more information or any questions see Mr. Scholl in room 214 or one of the Vargo twins.

Esports
Do you love playing video games? If so consider joining Central's Esports team. The team meets in the 4th-floor computer lab, room 405 on a regular basis to play competitive games. For more information, please speak with Mr. Powell.

Language Clubs
Central Catholic students enjoy three popular language clubs, French Club, Latin Club, and Spanish Club. Please see an advisor for more information. French Club advisor is Madame Russell, Latin Club advisor is Mr. Powell, and the Spanish Club advisor is Senora Carlson.

Liturgy Ministry
Regular worship is a cornerstone of a Crusader experience. Our worship services are student-led; students read, usher, serve, distribute Communion, help plan Masses, and share their musical talents. Anyone who would like to take part in music ministry should see Mrs. Dick in Room 305.

Musical
Our joint spring musical with St. Thomas Aquinas is underway. The cast for Roger & Hammerstein’s Cinderella and rehearsals have begun. There is still time for other interested students to participate. Anyone who is interested should contact the director, Mrs. Criseyda Dowd, [email protected]

Recycling
If you have time in your day to do a recycling job once or twice a week here at CCHS please see Mrs. Dick in Room 305. You would need to either have a study hall or have 5-10 minutes available before or after school to be able to take on some CCHS Recycling. This IS a chance to care for the earth and take part in something meaningful!

Running Club
The Crusader Running Club is meeting during the winter season, in between the cross country and track season. Members will be meeting after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It’s always more fun to run with friends!
