Crusader Basketball Sweeps Rival

Last weekend the Girls’ Basketball team took on our rival, St. Thomas Aquinas, for the second time this season, completing a sweep of the Knights. The JV team started the day by hitting 5 of their first 6 three-pointers in route to a convincing 32-11 victory. Three of the ladies finished with 6 points but in different ways. Jilly Stevens with an assortment of 2s, Celeste Levengood with two 3s and Molly Marceric with a three, a two and a free throw. These ladies are now 13-3-1!

The shooting didn’t cool off at all in the varsity game. Violet Ellerbrock knocked in two threes, Kristen Belden made one and a half, while Celeste Levengood, Emily Schmidt and Brigid Burke each hit one. Overall, the ladies hit 7/15 from deep on their way to a 71-38 victory. It was a special day where all the girls contributed. 10 different players scored and 9 of them had at least 2 baskets as a result of 20 assists. What a team effort! In the end Kristen Belden made the most of her last Aquinas game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
