Mr. Sicker had a special surprise last week. He was named the Central Catholic December Teacher of the Month!
He is a long-time Central Catholic Crusader, a graduate of CCHS, and has been teaching science and coaching for Central for decades. He is known as a tough teacher, but students know that he is a great teacher who is fair in his assessments. It’s clear to his students that he loves what he teaches, students say that he teaches them each day but what is most evident is that he is just talking about a subject he loves. His passion for education comes through each day and it encourages students to do their very best.
His knowledge and enthusiasm are likely part of the reason so many Crusaders return after graduation to visit and why graduates say that his classes are part of the reason they excel(ed) in their college science courses. That enthusiasm certainly translates into Crusader test scores, Central Catholic has the highest science test scores in the county, well above state and national averages. Dedication and a passion for teaching a subject they love are certainly key to the #CentralCatholicDifference!
