Central Catholic hosts the 2021 Jason Manse Crusader Relays

This weekend Central Catholic hosted the 2021 Jason Manse Crusader Relays, an event named for a very special Crusader, Lt. Jason Manse (Class of 1993) who passed away in 2006 while training students in his job as a U.S. Navy flight instructor. Lt. Manse was a highly awarded athlete, especially in track & field, and was salutatorian for the Class of 1993, before advancing to Duke University where he earned his degree and then continued his career with the United States Navy.

At the event, the Boy's 4x1600 meter relay team of Ian Paul, Blake Abbott, Sean Domer, and Barrett Scheatzle set a new school record! For the girl's team, Grace and Caroline Crane, combined, won the discus throw.

Another highlight of the event was when members of our 2021 Track & Field Team had the honor of meeting Jason Manse's parents, Ron and Cindy Manse, who took the time to take a photograph with the team.
