St. Thomas Aquinas High School is dedicated to providing a well-rounded education to its students, including a variety of academic courses in the arts, English, college credit plus, foreign languages, health and physical education, mathematics, science, social studies, and theology.
In the arts, students can choose from a range of courses including Art 1-3, 6-8, Band, Choir, Drawing 1-2, Painting 1-2, Independent Music Study, and Portfolio Studies. These courses provide students with the opportunity to express themselves creatively and develop their artistic skills.
For those who love the written word, there are nine English courses to choose from, including English 9-12, Honors Literature & Composition, Honors World Literature, AP Literature & Composition, British Literature, and Senior Composition. These courses will help students hone their writing skills and deepen their appreciation for literature.
The College Credit Plus (CCP) program offers students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. There are 11 CCP courses offered, including English, Mathematics, Science, and History.
St. Thomas Aquinas also offers 11 foreign language courses, including Spanish 1-5, Honors Spanish 3, 4, 5, Independent Spanish 4 & 5, 8th Grade Spanish, and French. Learning a foreign language is not only a valuable skill, but also a great way to broaden one's cultural horizons.
In the area of health and physical education, there are three courses to choose from: Physical Education Waiver, Health & Wellness, and Speed & Strength. These courses will help students stay physically fit and healthy while also learning about the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
The mathematics program at St. Thomas Aquinas is extensive, with 11 courses to choose from, including 8th Grade Algebra, Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, Honors Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, Math Applications, CCP Statistics, Pre-Calculus, CCP Honors Pre-Calculus, and Honors/AP Calculus AB.
In the sciences, students have a wide range of options, including Foundation of Science, Honors Foundations of Science, Biology, Honors Biology, Forensics 1 & 2, Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Honors Anatomy & Physiology, AP Biology, AP Physics, and AP Chemistry.
St. Thomas Aquinas offers 10 social studies courses, including World History, Honors World History, United States History, AP United States History, Government, Financial Literacy, Youth & Law, Sociology 1 & 2, Current Events, and Psychology. Finally, there are six theology courses to choose from, including Religion 6-12. These courses will help students deepen their faith and learn about the teachings of the Catholic Church.
