Sophomores Lanaya Hunter and Mackenzie Hawkins have been selected as the St. Thomas Aquinas High School representatives for the Youth Leadership Academy of Stark County! This honorable role allows Lanaya and Mackenzie to attend monthly leadership development seminars and retreats. Only thirty-eight high school students in the County are selected for the program, and each student will remain as a representative through graduation! Lanaya and Mackenzie were selected based on their dedication to academics and student organizations, and for demonstrating strong leadership skills in and out of the classroom.
According to the organization, the program will tackle issues of the responsibility to take action, regional collaboration, job preparation, educational attainment, workforce retention, and the power of the individual and collaborative group to initiate community transformation. We can't wait to see what is in store for Lanaya and Mackenzie on this journey! Congratulations! #StudentSpotlight #AquinasProud
